Dynamic Widget Interface

Dynamic Widget Interface

Project overview

Creating a Customizable Widget: Score Mode and News Mode Toggle

I designed a versatile widget that allows users to toggle between two views: Score Mode and News Mode. This feature was my idea to provide users with flexibility, letting them choose between a live scoreboard and the latest news updates directly from the widget settings. This innovation ensures that users have a more personalized and relevant experience based on their preferences.

Dynamic Widget Design: Enhancing User Flexibility

The idea for this versatile widget concept began with a simple question: How could we offer users more control over their information consumption without overwhelming them with too many separate widgets? The solution came in the form of a single widget with dual functionality.

A Dual-Mode Widget for Scores and News

To bring this concept to life, I started by exploring user needs and behaviors. I realized that some users prioritize live scores, while others are more interested in news and updates. Instead of forcing users to choose between different widgets, I envisioned a design where they could easily switch between two modes—Score Mode and News Mode—within the same widget. This approach would not only simplify their experience but also make the widget more dynamic and useful.

Refining the User Experience

I then refined the design, ensuring that each mode—whether displaying scores or news—was visually distinct yet consistent in style. The development phase involved close collaboration with the team to ensure that the widget performed smoothly across different devices and screen sizes.

Outcome

A Well-Received Solution

In the end, this concept was well-received by both the team and leadership, as it offered a fresh perspective on how widgets could be more interactive and personalized. The ability to toggle between modes added a new layer of engagement, making the widget not just a static display of information, but an active tool that users could adapt to their preferences.
