I worked on creating a new web version of the store locator, incorporating a fulfillment method selector: “How are you shopping?” This component allows users to choose between in-store, delivery, and pickup options. To proceed with shopping and start adding products to their cart, users need to select a store from the list. In some cases, when switching stores with already added products in the cart, certain items may be unavailable at the new store.
Collaboration with Product Management
The success of this project was also heavily dependent on effective collaboration with product managers. I was fortunate to work with a very talented product manager, whose clear and precise requirements ensured the project moved forward quickly. Her expertise and professionalism played a crucial role in keeping the process efficient and focused.
Design and Documentation
The project lasted for a month. I was responsible for creating and documenting all the new components that were added to the design system. Given my web development skills, I provided documentation in a format that was developer-friendly, aligning with their preferred technical specifications. This approach allowed us to avoid numerous meetings, as we essentially spoke the same language, leading to smooth communication. The project has been completed and is awaiting release in the near future.
The project was completed on time, with all necessary documentation provided, and it’s now in the final stages before release. Working with professionals who are clear, skilled, and dedicated made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I look forward to seeing this feature implemented and available to users.
